With over 30 years of experience in the dental field and a background in dental hygiene and oral health promotion, Misty is passionate about helping patients live healthier lives through education and treatment/therapy. She is the only therapist in East Texas certified by the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM). She evaluates and treats orofacial dysfunctions such as thumb-sucking, nail-biting, tongue thrust, tethered oral tissues (tongue & lip ties), Temporalmandibular muscular Joint Dysfunction, open mouth postures along with breathing re-education as a Certified Buteyko Clinic Instructor. Functional Nutritional counseling is an additional service that is provided as Misty is a Certified Functional Nutritional Counselor and Functional Nutrition Lifestyle Practitioner. A certified functional nutrition counselor plays a crucial role in identifying the underlying factors contributing to a person’s health issues and supporting them through personalized nutrition strategies addressing the root cause of health concerns rather than just treating symptoms. Misty enjoys staying current on the latest continuing education and strives to give each client excellent care.

East Texas Orofacial Myology opened in 2009 and is located in Tyler, TX. Hours are by appointment only but are flexible, allowing for the accommodation of busy schedules.
